The American Victory
Needs You!
The
American Victory 2007 Volunteer Recruitment Campaign is
in full swing. If you have ever considered
volunteering you're services to a museum, do we have an
opportunity for you. The American Victory is
unlike any museum you have ever visited. Our
museum goes to sea! We have needs for every
conceivable skill you can imagine. Maybe you're
willing to do light house keeping such as tidying up our
staterooms or exhibit displays so they are in museum
show status. Maybe you're a handy man who enjoys
fixing a clogged sink, leaking toilet, broken door knob.
Maybe you like answering phones, keeping up computer
databases of membership and volunteer records.
Sending out thank you letters. Do you have a flare
for event planning? Maybe you're an artist with graphic
design skills who can make up tour guides, event flyers,
maybe even a WEB site? We need far more than folks
who can handle a heaving line, paint a deck, or grease a
bearing. We need people who have creative talents
who can write display narratives, do exhibit design
work, document exhibits, research exhibit materials.
We can use people who have the skills to write and
submit grants, solicit help from local businesses, write
press releases, contact area schools and scouting
groups. Would you like to be a tour guide,
greeter, general event hospitality helper, we need them
too. Whatever skills you have that you are willing
to contribute, the American Victory can use. We
need people who can contribute time to work events, help
on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. You may only
have an afternoon a week you can spare, or maybe a few
days a month. Or maybe you want something where
you come daily, we have needs for all levels of
commitment. We need people to be volunteer
managers, and project planners. We particularly
need people for weekend duty so we can keep the ship
open for visitors.

something very different, in a location unlike any
other, come to the American Victory and join our family
of volunteers. Contact our volunteer coordinator,
or one of the ship superintendents at 813-228-8766,
between 10 AM and 4PM Tuesday thru Friday.
